EPALE is a multilingual open membership community for everyone with a professional role in adult learning across Europe. EPALE was established (and is funded) by the European Commission in order to contribute to development and the quality of adult learning provision in Europe.
EPALE enables sharing news, views, ideas and resources among experts in adult education in Europe. The Slovenian National Support Service (NSS, which is a part of CMEPIUS activities) together with other National Support Services and Central Support Service (CSS) strives for successful involvement of different stakeholders. The themes, contributed by experts, are divided in to 5 key themes:
- Learner Support
- Learning Environments
- Life Skills
NSS Slovenia provides useful information to teachers, trainers, researchers, academics, mentors, policy-makers and all that have an active role in adult education.
The platform in Slovenian language offers diverse news on current topics in adult education in Slovenia, and also across Europe. Different resources (i.e. examples of good practice, important documents), news and blogs are publicly accessible and open to comments and exchange of practice and opinion. In the Events Calendar major adult learning events which will take place in different parts of Europe are regularly published (seminars, conferences and other trainings).
The EPALE on-line Partner Search tool has been developed within the platform, which will be shortly followed by other tools, such as forums and private groups which will enable users to discuss ideas and other specific topics. The idea behind the EPALE platform is to offer adult educators information which will contribute to the quality of their work and to keep them informed with current trends and development guidelines in adult learning in Slovenia as well as in Europe.
